This Is PGX
While in government imposed self-isolation in March 2020, I decided to start a web series about leading an all-girl indie rock band on the South Island of New Zealand, featuring footage of our humble beginnings (although to be honest, the present is pretty humble, too). The result is somewhere between Flight of the Conchords, The Runaways if Kim Fowley wasn't in the picture, and The Monkees, except this is unscripted real life and comedy only by accident.
Episode 1: Do not put your pregnant guitarist behind the camera. 30 March 2020.
Episode 2: An introduction to the life of Brian Feary of Melted Ice Cream while in lockdown and his upcoming music festival, Better Living Everyone, streaming live on Friday 17 April and Saturday 18 April 2020 on meltedicecream.co.nz. 15 April 2020.
Episode 3: After PGX guitarist Mary endures the trauma of childbirth during lockdown, her bandmate and best friend creates a tribute video chronicling their time flatting together in the aftermath of the Christchurch earthquakes and deciding to form a band, despite neither of them playing any instruments particularly well.
